I admire generosity, in the Taoist Treatise on Response and Retribution, it is a virtue to promote the good deeds of others (like you are doing here), and depending on the weight of the act, the karmic reward is a increase of lifespan by either 100 day or 12 year periods, with accompanying prosperity.
Let’s hope that karmic reward goes to those owners of the restaurant. They certainly deserve it.
