no moon
on this side
of the house
just darkness
and a cat
crying
somewhere
out there
no moon
on this side
of the house
just darkness
and a cat
crying
somewhere
out there

Might be one of my cats. Sorry about that.
No harm done. I put out food by the front door and it was gone this morning so he obviously got what he wanted.
Ah. We do the same, but sometimes it is a possum we see on the porch, sometimes a raccoon…
Sorry for this late response but was without internet service or almost a week due to my move. Much catching up to do. I had raccoons in NY living in one of my garages. Pretty destructive animals.

Your choice of images and syntax painted this moment quite beautifully.
Thank you for this kind comment.
Very nice!
Thank you.
A picture painted in words, very nice.
Thank you.
Nice, and I love the precise – “no moon / on this side / of the house….” It reminded me (just in passing) of the character in Robert A. Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land who, when asked the color of a certain house, replied, “It’s white on this side.”
Great association. Thanks.
A perfect frame for your words, Leonard…
Nicely penned!. Best wishes. Aquileana 😀
