an older poem for today
it is so simple
yet not as simple as all that
for love is forgetting
all that happened before
letting new flowers grow
in what’s left of a heart
worn and fearful
of the light of day
and expecting nothing
in return

Aww that’s very lovely! 🙂
Thank you for that comment.
Very welcome!
love is taking a risk
that the pain of living fully
is worthwhile
Quite right.
It’s that dry fear we all carry around. When we overcome it, it morphs into the faint anticipation of a profound wince.
Now that’s an interesting take on it.
If love truly blooms, it does vanish. But taking the risk to allow love to bloom (with what little control we have in those situations), takes a courage that slowly, if we survive, becomes faith.
Oh, those expectations!

YES!! These lines will thunder in my heart as long as roses bloom. 🙂
Thanks, Ron. It’s always nice to know that you can supply the thunder for someone other than yourself, don’t you think?
Lovely.
Thank you.
Well said…
