a person is always
what they do
their actions define
their character
words are empty
unless validated by action
it’s easy to quote poetry
or political philosophy
but unless you live a life
that reflects those words
you are false
a mask hiding your real self
the hardest thing in life
is to live your words
otherwise
why even speak
without the appropriate action
it’s just air
Couldn´t agree more. I have always tried to live by my word. I obviously have had my downs, but when I say “I´m a tough guy and I´ll get us through this”, or ” I´m going to do X Y and Z” you better believe it I will. And that does command respect from most people, not that they will like you, but will respect you.
It’s good to be a man/woman of your word. Glad you not only agree but do it as well.
Cue silence……
Well you don’t have to be silent, except when you don’t intend to do more than just talk.
hard-hitting and true
Glad you liked it and seem to agree.
Oh I do. It’s a great challenge for all of us.
That it is.
Oh Ya! Well said. I totally agree. However, there’s gotta be some room for grace and mercy too. Because there are those that long to have greater character, and are trying, but change takes time.
Great post. Really hit home with me, as I’ve been doing a study through Proverbs that speak all about words, the good and the bad. The power of words and the wisdom of silence.
🙂
I’m glad it resonates with you. And yes, grace & mercy are important, too.
🙂
