Clouds by Robert Creeley

The clouds passing over, the
wisps still seeming substantial, as
a kid, as a kid I’d see them up there

in the town I grew up in on the hills
in the fields on the way home then
as now still up there, still up there.

  1. Bittersweet. Traveling back in time, looking skyward. White and puffy, dancing in the midst of the most beautiful blue realm. They frolicked and played with our youthful minds. Creatures, soft and billowy, never threatening. These were the tender daydreams of our youth. Vicariously you have jettisoned us back in time. Thank you.
