A question that needs a truthful answer and lot of explaining to do…
It’s easy to do the comparative exercises in tragic circumstances like these. I remember there being a big uproar about the Nigerian attacks in the news early this year. I barely watch the news but I was aware of it. I care about the deaths of innocent men, women and children everywhere. No loss is greater than another. I wish you a peaceful weekend, Leonard.
The world cares… even if the media doesn’t. My faith is in humanity even in its imperfections. Your question indeed raises many issues.
Perhaps because that was ‘only’ Nigeria.
The perpetrators of many terror events are convinced that their actions will get them into heaven. I’m pretty sure there’s something deeply wrong with that.
Leonard, we do care. There is so much misery around us, it can’t go on like this.

I fear that whether it’s in Kenya or in Paris, it’s not the victims we care about as much as it is the ‘drama’ unfolding before our eyes . . . And like ‘reality TV’ we lose interest as soon as the next show is on . . . Sad, but true . . .
Because life is cheap unless it’s ‘ours’.
Great question, Leonard! We do seem to have lost our perspective! Try to have a great weekend and make one person feel better, it helps me! 🙂
Thank you. And yes we have but the world is a better place when it starts with each and every one of us.
