too many hearts
are hardened, are closed
to the suffering
the poor, the misplaced
in this troubled world
when they should be open
regardless of emotional cost
for hearts are gateways
to our humanity
it is hearts of compassion
through which
God speaks

Thanks.
You are most welcome.
Very sad that this is now a common thought. As an Australian I am ashamed of how we have treat some recent refugees by locking them up on of shore islands and throwing away the key.
It is sad that people tend to forget, or overlook, the fact that they are human beings, too, and need to be treated as such.
I agree with you Leonard.
Leslie
I’m glad that you do, Leslie.
Humanities shame, Leonard. Keep expressing; you’re not alone.
Glad you think so, too.
Thank you, Leonard.
Thank you, Robert, for reblogging this.
My pleasure…:)

So. Good. I have not forgotten them… just blogged about the Syrian refugees (all 4.9 million of them) today.
It is a tragic situation.
