sitting naked
the overhead fan
circulating the air
on this
another humid day
in Istanbul
I wonder
briefly
what life is like
5000 miles away
where I once belonged
in another life
on another planet
in a country
so unlike
the one that exists
today
where people
I know and love
wonder how
life once imagined
started slipping
away
Hope you put some clothes on before heading outside! Unfortunately, I grasp the why and how America is in the sad shape she is in today. Greed and lust for power rank high up on the scale of reasons (doesn’t matter which side of the political aisle). ‘North of Richmond’. Plus, far too many Americans have been lulled into thinking the government can take care of her people better than they can take care of themselves. Sad to be witnessing her demise.
Forgive my reply, except the first sentence! Your blog is not a place for me to vent my frustrations.
No need to ask forgiveness. We share the same frustrations and both, I believe, grieve for the America we once believed in.
I answered this in your other comment but want to assure you here that I always put on clothes before venturing out.
Wonderful, and thank you.
You’re welcome, Michael.
And people 10,000 miles away also wonder.
Miles evaporate from our common cause.
