on seeing Hair in Turkey

no old hippies
in the audience
just some wannabes
on stage
kids too young to remember
there was a world
so what can one expect
of 50 years ago
and I sit
snarling at all the cellphones
that light up
throughout the seats
and wonder
just who they came to see
their facebook page
or twitter
or the people on stage
so into themselves
so 21st Century

  1. You know Prof. That could be a good Play to go and watch…I am sure people will relate…something extravagant in the background but everybody looking down…only looking up to take the video or picture and then looking back down to see how it look on Facebook or on Twitter…you have to check how it came out…I am guilty of that…
To be a little macabre…when I an death…I will request they post the funeral on You tube, so everyone could watch it…and nobody has to travel and pretend to look at it….

    • They were not taking pictures, Fernando. They were texting and checking their facebook, etc. I could see them both in front of me, to the side, and in back. I did not see anyone hold up their phones to take a picture.
