on thinking too much

sometimes
my brain gets ahead
of me
and I play catch up
but by the time
I get to where
my thinking is
it was
and I’m left hanging
my heart stranded
in air
so sometimes
I should just
let it go
off on its own
and stay put
where the heart is
letting things follow
whatever course they follow
without thinking
too much

  1. I know the feeling, but you put it better than I ever could. Nice work. I’m trying to give up on thinking too much, but it is hard work to stop. Love this part: “and I’m left hanging / my heart stranded / in air”.

  2. Hi!

I think that happens because we had given the priority to brain to choose.. if there will be no option.. it will less wander!

Where as there are mysteries that are still unsolved. Brain = Milkyway Galaxy. 🙂

  3. My mouth just flew open. I just finished saying out loud “catch up” in reference in trying to get to everyone’s blogs today and here you are talking about catching up (brain wise). Too funny!!! Thank you for again another wonderful poem. Love, AMy
