Happy New Year, L! Does Wang An-shih seem to have a little more pride/hubris than his peers?
Pride, yes, but I don’t think arrogance. He was a reformer when in power and yet the conservative elements who came to power after him dismantled all his reforms. Then he became a recluse in the mountains. Knowing that, I think you can read this as saying you can change the world but you can’t change me. I am happy with who I am.

Yes, I’ve had that impulse on occasion, too, but just mumble a bit, take a deep breath, and try again. Perhaps, though, since my desk top is a 27inch apple, I don’t throw it out the window because it would be a bit difficult to manage that. The iPad, though, that’s a different story.
