In Kate's World
My cat looks almost exactly like this! Alas I suspect he might not enjoy this poem as much I do, since I doubt he can conceive of any person or possession more valuable than “the cat”. 🙂
That is a trait common to all cats. The world does, in their opinion, revolve around them.
I think the cat is pleased; for there is much that is less than the cat, and the cat does not mind hearing this over and over again, and the cat tends to read the beginning and skip to the end, not really minding what is in the middle.
A trait it shares with quite a few humans that I can think of. And until one owns you, and they all seem to view pet ownership from that perspective, you never quite understand their way of thinking. And no matter how hard you try to convince them otherwise, you finally just have to accept the fact that cats are not, nor will they ever be, dogs.
Very true. A good message to think on.
Thank you. I try to not just think about it but accept it.
I really like this one! A very universal truth
Thank you. It took years to be able to write that.
Despite the picture, this isn’t really a poem about a cat, is it? It’s about oneself — you, me, anyone — and the cat just walked right into the frame. They do that.
Yes, they do. They think the world revolves around them.
beautiful
Thank you. The cat, of course, assumes you’re talking about him.
My cats agree.
If you want more, go get another cat or 2!
That’s what I did. Now I have lots.
(wink)
One is more than enough in the house. I do have a few feral cats now that come for food but my expat NYer cat is pretty clear about territorial rights to the inside.
