At one glance
I loved you
With a thousand hearts
They can hold against me
No sin except my love for you
Come to me
Don’t go away
Let the zealots think
Loving is sinful
Never mind
Let me burn in the hellfire
Of that sin
translated by Talat S. Halman
To burn in the hellfire of that sin is a risk I’m so willing to take, Len. 😉
That’s what makes you courageous. You are a risk taker. Don’t be too hesitant to take another risk.
We both know there’s a huge price to pay for such a risk.
Ah, but the reward, if the risk pays off, is more than worth it.
Incontestable truth. 🙂 Hugs.
although I don’t think you’ll burn in hellfire for love… 🙂
It would depend on one’s culture whether you believe in a literal hellfire or not. That poem was written in the 16th Century and refers to zealots who I’m sure believe in a literal one in any century.
