I have been without internet service since last Thursday so am very much behind in my reading of your posts. This was due, in part, to my move back to Istanbul, but mainly to the company I consider the bane of my existence here: TTNET and their policies. I am now back online and will attempt to catch-up. It will take me a few days, but I am, if anything, persistent. I will add that I missed reading all of you.
It’s very hard to be zen in a world that has internet providers in it 🙂
Ah, so true, so true.
I HATE my host too…. So, so Deep!!!!!
Mine is a government company so there is little flexibility in their interpretation of the rules.
If have government in the middle that is expected (gov. always goes bad) But my is independent and expensive and always doing a bad work. Kisses from Brazil
Unfortunately, you don’t always get what you pay for.
Always here, Len. 🙂 No worries.
I always am glad to hear from you.
Great to see you back. You live in Istanbul? I would love to live for a season in Istanbul. I have been only briefly on my way to, and then coming back from Afghanistan. Where were you living before?
🙂
I was in Izmir for 10 months but I’ve lived in Istanbul for 5 years prior to that. And now back to the city I call home. Afghanistan? Now that must have been interesting. How long were you there?
My hubby and I were there for 1 month. We were doing a documentary. We had to get our visa and plane ticket in Istanbul, so we were there for about three days. Then, coming back from Afghanistan, we had a few days in Istanbul and a day in Ankara.
🙂
How was Afghanistan?
Afghanistan was a great experience. It’s funny how the media can plant fear in people though. I was so scared at first that when we were in the plane en-route from Istanbul to Kabul, I asked my husband to watch me as I went walked to the back to use the bathroom. They people were very hospitable and it will be something in my memory that I’ll never forget.
🙂
When you separate the people from the policies of their/our governments, then you find we are mostly all basically the same. The radical fringe, of course, are an exception.
Exactly. I agree.
🙂
Istanbul.!! How exciting 🙂
I have grown to love it here.
🙂
and we have missed you…
Thank you. That is very kind of you to say.
you post my favourite poetry
Thank you so much for that.
No worries, my friend… 🙂
Thanks.
Sometimes it’s good to have an excuse to give yourself a break. Hope you enjoyed it!
I was moving (changing cities) which had the usual number of hassles and delights.
welcome back and enjoy blogging again
;D
Thanks.
Not to worry…..give my love to Istanbul! Coincidentally, a colleague from Istanbul is in Boston on business for a few days and I will see her tomorrow night for a “Turkish party”! It’s been 4 years so it will indeed be a “Turkish Delight” 🙂
Have a good evening with Turkish Delight in Boston.
Glad you’re back!
Thanks, Jeff. Hope your birthday there is filled with love and good food.
I have managed to consume some of both.
That’s the spirit.
