Counter-intuitively cool. This poem should be printed up and posted on the ground by every parked car’s driver’s side door, so people see it right as they are about to open their car door for another mindless drive to work; or on the floor of subway stations right where the train doors open–except then everyone would be tripping over everybody’s feet trying to get in and out and wondering what stopped it all–which, I guess, I’d like to see.
Interesting idea. There’s an anarchist inside you, Jeff.
I pray my memories stay buoyant upon the sea, skimming along the surface so that I might visit them when longing overtakes sanity. Beautiful as ever Lyn. ❤️ Paris
Thank you. And I hope you get the result of your prayer.
Beautiful… I hope they are memories you cherish.
Well some are good and some aren’t so good, like life, you know. But they all contributed to who I am and I’m fine with that.
Beautiful. I like how memories soften over time. Less harsh and more magical.
Thank you. A wise observation.
I wrote this poem in Vietnamese long time ago:
tình đôi ta
như dấu chân
in trên cát
dấu hằn sâu
mà tan mau…
I tried to translate it into English as follows:
our love
as footprints
in the sand
deeply imbedded
but washed away quickly…
That’s very lovely. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you. It is my pleasure! 🙂
