I stare
at lights
burning
on islands
in the sea
and listen
to the echo
of the call
to prayer
still reverberating
in my ears

In Kate's World
One of the most special things in my memories of Istanbul: lying in bed awake, window open at the Hotel Kybele, and hearing the morning call to prayer. Thanks for the memory awakened!
Glad it brought back special memories for you.
Short and sweet 🙂
Thank you.
No problem 🙂
What a beautiful image. Brings back memories of an evening in Morocco some years ago. The call to prayer is so grounding and calming, no? Doesn’t matter what or how much you believe. It just centers you.
Yes, it does. I find it most soothing.
I remember those from Bosnia, where I was born. When I close my eyes I can hear it right now… Thanks!
I’m glad it brought back pleasant memories for you.
It sure did! 🙂
