dawn creeps in
pulling me
from dreams
of people long gone
a life abandoned
but not forgotten
the book lies closed
on the bed
the pen the pad
awaits
one more morning
here today
leading to
tomorrow

Hope those mornings are full of promise.
every morning is a gift
True enough.
Love it.
Thank you very much.
Dawn has a way of doing this I think!
It certainly does.
🙂
Reminds me of the nights of ‘singlehood’ when I read myself to sleep. Then upon rising the next morning would find myself tucked neatly on the right side of my queen sized bed while my books, pen and pad (and sometimes laptop) were found on the left side as evidence of my bedtime activities.
These days my only tool is my smartphone for in it books (via kindle), pen and pad (via note apps or WordPress editor) and computer (via large screen, excellent browser and computer features) are all accessible via on device which sits on the nightstand.
Now what shall I do with all this extra room to my left? 🙂
I have a cat that occupies that space now on most nights. Not exactly what I would prefer, but then again, part of my process of shrinking to grow.
“Shrinking to grow”
Ah yes, a concept with which I’m very (unwillingly) familiar. Soldier on, keep your eyes on the prize! 🙂
What else is a body to do?
(Shrugs) 🙂
