In Kate's World
Sometimes the we are fortunate. When the we know wish to control.
True enough.
I would go so far as to say that’s true most of the time.
I agree.
Very true!
A woman, who is somewhat of a mentor/guide, insists that I’m an avoider and I agree, but I simply process and deal with things on a NEED TO basis called compartmentalization.
If an issue is not of dire importance now, it gets pushed back a spot, if that’s avoidance then so be it! With everything on my plate as a single parent I can only deal with so much before I reach ‘critical mass’. Oh I’ll confront it, but only when it reaches the front of the line!
Well whatever works. My father was one not to turn a cheek. But sometimes it’s best to take what’s known as “the high road.”
🙂
This couldn´t be more true, creates “character” in a person, taking the easy route just will make you a wussy in life. And that is something that is a trait that is very difficult to get rid off and not a good one.
Well sometimes avoiding confrontation is the wisest route to take. Especially when you think of the ultimate confrontation is war. Then negotiation is the best course of action, don’t you think?
First you do start with negotiations and keep at them but at the end of the day with some countries as with people there is no other route but confrontation, you do have to send a message that you will not be pushed to a certain line and once that line is crossed by the opposite entity, State, person you do have to act, and myself having been in two screwed up countries I was just a tool for a means, which I have still no clue what the means where nor I care. It was just a job which we volunteered to do at a very young age, so no regrets except for those who we lost.
But talking philosophically if you look throughout the history of man kind there has always been one constant thing, war.
And humans being as they are, I doubt we will ever live in a world without wars, so you do need young and not so yount guys like myself to do that job when time need be, hopefully there is not many times, but when time comes then is the next generation after mine that has to do that type of job.
By the way my comment was referring to life´s struggles.
To avoid or try to make as there is no problem in you life, or confront other persons when they are in the wrong, just stand up for yourself even though it might not be the easy route but that does build character, to confront life challenges instead of avoiding them. That´s what I was referring too, I still have no idea how we got to the war thing.
Charly, I understand what you were addressing by your comment. I was just extending this beyond that.
I figured, it was a nice discussion though
