is how I’m best remembered
present tense often
not easy to bear
especially here
outside my natural element
which is not to say
I won’t have another glass
of whatever they’re pouring
wherever I am
before moving farther
down the line
letting memory
take care of itself
very nice!
Beautiful.
Thank you.
ah….lifting that glass and “moving farther down the line”….memories. Love this one.
Have been in Alaska for 2+ weeks, hence my absence in Likes and Comments on your wonderful site. Did manage 3 posts of my own while I was gone – Alaska is an incredulous muse! — and prescheduled other posts….but now…home with stacks of laundry and looking forward to catching up on your works, and others of my favorites! 🙂 Hope to catch up by Monday! Nice to see you again 🙂
Thank you, Lillian. I look forward to reading more of your Alaskan adventure. And good luck with the laundry and catching up on the blogs. It took me a full week to catch up from my 4 day trip to Izmir.
Letting memory take care of itself. That is a great way to end a poem, and a very big thing to think about, or maybe to simply observe and absorb, like a good view of a full moon.
Now you are liking my last lines. Thanks. And, by the way, if my residency is approved tomorrow, I will be back to the US in November sometime. You open for meeting then?
All for it! Let’s get the old gang together, for the first time.
I’ll send you my dates once I settle on them. Then we can pick when I can come own there.
