it’s not the grand gesture
the great sacrifice
that proves what lies
in a heart
but the accumulation
of the small things
that go unnoticed
during the daylight
the evening
of our lives
it’s not the grand gesture
the great sacrifice
that proves what lies
in a heart
but the accumulation
of the small things
that go unnoticed
during the daylight
the evening
of our lives

I find this very true in life. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you for this comment.
You’re welcome.
So true. We are the sum of life’s experiences…good and bad. Day and night. We are an inignma so-to-speak. Yet truth can be discerned.
Thank you, Michael.
Yes, the accumulation of small things. Beautifully expressed.
Thank you.
Philosophical and true.
Thank you.

Thank you for reblogging this poem.
This poem being one of those small things, not quite unnoticed.
Thank you, Jeff.
Isn’t that the truth.
I always thought so. Glad you agree.
Ah, yes. The unnoticed (or the barely noticed).
It isn’t for the noticing, though, that one performs those acts of the heart, is it?
No, it’s not.
Beautiful truth
Thank you.
Beautiful! ❤
Thank you.
You’re very welcome!
I think this is beautiful without details or explanation. We all can picture someone whose small things they did for us may have gone unnoticed. Some may be still with them in the evening of their lives. I fear I may not . . .
Many times we do not notice those small acts of kindness until they have ceased. And then, unfortunately, it is usually too late to acknowledge them.
