Part of my penance these days it to write out the book of Mathew by hand. Am about 65% complete. Perhaps will start Mark after that.
I just do periodic fasts. Yours is much more labor intensive and probably instructive, too.
What a cool thing to do? How has it changed you?
Well I think it helps to clean out the system. I always feel healthy anyway.

I actually used the film Smoke Signals (he wrote the screenplay) based on some of his short stories, plus the stories themselves in classes I taught when I did a unit on Native Americans.
