You remind me that when my husband and I were first dating, we used to sing that Billie Joel song with these lyrics — ‘I love you just the way I wish you were,’ – and other times ‘I love you just the way you are going to be.’ 🙂
Ah, a nice change in lyrics both times.
Not sure that ‘nice’ is the right term — maybe barbed? Anyway, we somehow survived our misplaced expectations.
