I am the sun in children’s eyes that can’t scorch their hands
Around me life has sweets and moisture
Though I lost my flowers long ago
My heart is heavy with hidden fruit
Wind, even though you’re late
I am already ripe
translated by Fang Dai, Dennis Ding, & Edward Morin
Beautiful!
Glad you think so.
That is brilliant. “…heavy with hidden fruit.” Makes me want to learn Chinese.
I’m playing with that very line. We’re on the same wave length.
Not uncommon. 😎

Glad to hear that, Anna.
Love what you did – typical me I forgot the spacing.
Wow. The last two lines are just plain sick, as I used to say when I was fourteen.
That’s from a longer poem that is quite powerful in his use of language. Unfortunately there are only three of his poems in the anthology “The Red Azalea” but he is quite prolific in both literature and art.
