Ode To The Plum by Anonymous

another translation from Mary Tang on her blog Life is But This

Life is But This 命

The name of the poet is lost but his words endure like the winter plums…

Ode To The Plum

The north wind seeks to strike a man down

Shrivels a thousand greens and drops a thousand flowers

Whoever gave the winter plum its rarified airs

To flaunt the only silver flowers on this fine day

(c) Mary Tang 鄧許文蘭 2017

題梅

北風獵獵吹人倒,千卉千葩盡枯槁。

誰分清氣到寒梅,獨放銀花照晴昊。

  1. I probably sound stupid for asking, but as a wise man said…. if you don’t ask what you don’t know you will always be a dummy, he actually didn’t use the word dummy, but i’m still scratching my heas as to what I just read
