Tide by Bai Ju Yi (translation)

another of Mary Tang’s translations from the Chinese on her blog Life is But This

Life is But This 命

TIDE by Bai Ju Yi (772 – 846)

The late tide comes in as the early tide retreats

Sixty times they turn to one cycle of the moon

Not alone does time goes by from dawn to dusk

The tide advances one’s years in Hang Zhou
