An Occasional Poem by Li Qing Zhao (translation)

another translation from the Chinese by Mary Tang on her blog Life is But This

Life is But This 命

The female Chinese poet Li Qing Zhao (1084 – 1151) wrote from the Song Dynasty:

An Occasional Poem by Li Qing Zhao

Fifteen years ago beneath this moon and these flowers

We waxed lyrical about the blooms as we nestled together

Now I see a similar moon and lookalike flowers

And wish for the passion of that bygone era

偶成。李清照

十五年前花月底,相從曾賦賞花詩。
今看花月渾相似,安得情懷似往時!
