light comes
into my world
and from my window
see the wet street
as Hasan readies
his Tekel
crates of bottled water
the potatoes, onions
racks of chips
line the outside
a morning routine
before he disappears inside
and what is left
hunched dog walkers
a feral cat asleep
on a window ledge
and a lone taxi
idling on the corner
of our lives
And not to be outdone you’ve painted a very beautiful picture.
Thank you, John, for those kind words.
You’re welcome. Now I plan to look for some in Melbourne’s book shop. and if not I’ll have to go on line but I prefer to find them locally.
So do I except it’s hard to find English additions here in Turkey. There were 3 good English language bookstores in Istanbul once but they’re all gone now.
