Lovely, Leonard!
Thank you, Emily.
Yep.
You’ve captured it, I was born near the sea and spent a great deal of my life trying to get back there. I miss the salt but I love my inland seas, Michigan, Huron and Superior.
Seas, lakes, rivers, they all have a calming effect, don’t you think?
You may not have meant this in your poem, but to me, I think of the seagulls hanging out at the dumpsters in parking lots and have wondered if they ever miss the sea. Wonderful poem in few words 🙂
Here they fly by the buildings. The sea is visible from my windows so it is close enough to get lots of gulls.
Nice!
That is so touching. I live by the Sea and there is something that pulls you – just to stand and smell the Sea to watching the waves rolling in and out and the Seagulls on the water – you have captured so much. Thank you.
Thank you. And yes, I like to sit on my balcony and gaze out to the sea.
I live in Clacton-on-Sea in Essex (England) and the Sea here is the North Sea which is so cold and Grey but early hours of the morning when you can be alone the Sea makes one dream. Being on a ship or even a boat way out just you and the Sea and the Sky. Thank you for all your beautiful words.
I’m glad they had meaning for you.
Double meaning.why did memories force to cry?good lines bt has a question.lovely.
One can cry for what one misses.
Yeah.on missing,one feels alone.
I have been yearning to be by the sea for so long. Your lines bring me a little bit closer. ❤
May they bring you closer still.
Me too, Leonard.
Glad to hear that.
I love this poem! So perfect! Hugz Lisa and Bear
