Leaving the Mountain by Wen Tian Xiang (translation)

and I return from London to read this translation by Mary Tang on her blog Life is But This

Life is But This 命

A Song Dynasty poem by Wen Tian Xiang (1236 – 1283) translated from Chinese to English:

Leaving the Mountain by Wen Tian Xiang

Day after day I ride up the hills

Till the moon is long on the tracks

Grant me a hundred years of mountain and man

Each year be drunk three hundred times or more

(c) Mary Tang 鄧許文蘭 2017

出山。文天祥

日日騎馬來山中,歸時明月長在地

但願山人一百年,一年三百餘番醉
