there’s haze
on the islands
beyond my reach
but the sun high
in the sky
warms the world
my third cup
of coffee
laced with Baileys
warms me
and here
in a country
voting on its future
today
I watch the gulls
sail by
and think of loved ones
far away
in miles in time
while waiting
for my phoenix
to rise
Wonder full imagination of gulls n ur phoenix.marvellous.
Thank you.

Happy Easter, my friend. Have a blessed day 💜🐰✝️🐣
Thank you. Happy Easter to you, also.
I see it. I remember the general election in 2015 when I was there. Coffee with Baileys sounds like a good idea. Happy Easter.
Thanks, Mary. I think I might be drinking something a bit stronger tonight.
We’ll be thinking about you, Leonard during this election. I do hope there is a good future for Turkey. Happy Easter.
Leslie
Thanks, Leslie. İt seems the yes vote has won but by a small margin. This poor country is as divided as the rest of the world.
I think all countries are too big to listen to the little people.
What a beautiful poem! Happy Easter Leonard.
Thank you. You, too.
Sending love, prayers and hope for peace to you. Hugs.
Thanks, Patricia, though I think this country needs those more than me.
You are a part of that country so what I send to you I send to the whole country. xo
In that case, we all thank you.
I’ve got a feeling that Turkey is going to need a lot of prayers. A 50/50 split is never a good thing.
Divided populations in countries seem to be the trend these days. Where I come from and where I am are both good examples of that.
Lovely n happy sunday.amen.
May all your days be lovely.
So evocative that coffee with Bailey’s is now on my list of things to try. Must be an interesting time in Turkey now to say the least, or the most.
An understatement: Turkey not the Baileys. And to tell the truth, I’m getting tired of living in interesting times. Could use a bit of tranquility about now.
I feel you.
