Really lovely, never had a Turkish Coffee, but I recall my late Husband saying that his Grandfather who was from Greece, Salonika, and his business was making handmade Cigars, would always smoke his Cigar and insist on his Turkish Coffee, my Husband as a young boy, would witness this every time he was “summoned” to see his Grandfather. My eldest Son loves his Turkish Coffee.
Have you tried it yourself? It is very strong. Many people turn the cup over after they’re finished and wait for the grinds to cool. Then someone will read their fortunes in the grinds.
No I have not tried myself Leonard, but love the idea of turning the cup over to read the fortune. I gave Jonathan my little Copper Turkish Coffee pot I had, he uses it. I must have him make me a cup of Turkish Coffee.
Let me know if you enjoy it.
Cool! I’ve tried it once – it was wonderfully strong.
It’s an acquired taste but very much part of the culture here.
Great photo.!! Turkish coffee is the best 🙂
Glad you like it, too.
Born and raised on it 🙂 My great aunt used to read the dried coffee grounds in your cup when you were finished.!!
I have a close friend here who also does that. It’s a kind of ritual with us when we meet.
Oh that’s awesome 🙂
you have such a nice smile.
Thank you. That’s very kind of you to say.
