Thanks. He’s one of my favorite Turkish poets. I wish more of them, though, were available in translation.
Yea, I see that, too… I was looking around for some of his work. Most of it in his language. Too bad… like the translations, thought…
I don’t know if it’s still in print but I have a copy of his poems translated into English called I, Orhan Veli. The translator is Murat Nemet-Nejat and it was published byHanging Loose Press in Brooklyn, NY first in 1989, but second printing was in 2001. You might try writing to them. Address: 231 Wyckoff Street Brooklyn, NY 11217. You might be able to find them online, too. Also the same translator edited a collection of Turkish poetry called A Brave New Quest and included several of his translations of Veli’s work. That, I believe, you can still get on amazon. I used it as a source for several posting of Turkish poets.
