Especially liked this one. Very nice.
Yes, it is quite lovely.
A favorite. Thanks for offering it today.
Glad you like it. It’s a different translation but quite beautiful still.
As my buddy Mei Yao-ch’en once wrote, poems should contain boundless meaning revealed beyond their words. Or something like that–I mean, I get what he meant, is what I’m saying! Meaning, a great poem can survive multiple translations and have within it the boundless meaning, still reaching the reader in their own way of receiving it. I think I’ve seen this in several translations and that meaning comes through.
Yes, agreed. Which is why I like reading the different translations to see the slightly different takes each translator has and yet to still enjoy the poem itself.
a beautiful piece.
Glad you liked it. It is a favorite of mine in all its translated versions.
Brilliant! The imagery evokes great emotion.
I’m glad you liked it.
I like the way the natural elements are used to draw the parallel. Ethereal.
Thank you, William. I’m glad you like it. He’s one of China’s greats.
