Written on the Wall While Drunk at Wang’s House North of the Han River by Li Po

I’m like some partridge or quail—
going south, then flying lazily north.

And now I’ve come to find you here,
a little wine returns me to the moon.

  1. It is really funny to see such everyday events recorded in very ancient writing, even though I know human beings must always have done such things. And i am sure humans found how to make alcoholic beverages very early on in their existence. Here in New Zealand in Autumn we have the native wood pigeons falling out of trees after overindulging in the fermented berries of the Karaka tree.
