Thoughts of a Quiet Night by Li Po (Li Bai)

Before the  bed, bright moonlight.
I took it for frost on the ground.
I raised my head to dream upon that moon,
then bowed my head, lost, in thoughts of home.

  1. Yes, sometimes because of their government postings and other times, like in the case of Li Po, because they were sent into exile when they fell out of favor in court. Or for others, when their pride ruled their behavior rather than their good sense, it was a self-imposed exile. And lastly, there were those who renounced the material world and went off to live in the mountains to get clear of it all.
